北海道新聞社の新本社である。積雪寒冷地では寒さゆえに閉鎖的な建物となりやすく、まちとの関係性が構築されづらい。オフィスにおけるアクティビティはデスクワークをはじめとする静的活動と、オフィス内の移動やリフレッシュといった動的活動の２つが存在する。

「３C Zone」と名付けた動的活動を支える開放的な空間を通りに面して積層することで、ワーカーのアクティビティがファサードを介してまちへ表出する計画とした。

This is the head quarters of The Hokkaido Shimbun Press. In snowy, cold regions, buildings tend to become closed off due to the cold, making it difficult to build a relationship with the surrounding city. Office activities consist of two types: static activities like desk work, and dynamic activities such as moving around the office and taking refreshment breaks. By stacking an open space supporting dynamic activities, named the ”3C Zone,” facing the street, the plan allows these activities to be expressed to the city through the façade.
